Inclusivity and Diversity in the Workplace by Goodie Okechukwu

#Inclusivity is different from #diversity!

As we are now moving into a #global village, embracing diversity in the #workplace is the new norm. Studies have shown that having a workplace that showcases diverse #cultures and backgrounds exposes a company to different #perspectives that may help a business be #competitive in a global setting.

But diversifying an organization can pose some #challenges. The efforts in bringing in diversity are sometimes halted by certain biases that our systems have engraved in us; these could be biases toward gender, ethnicity, religion, and even age.

In our #TCPLive Session 6 “How to Promote Diversity in the Workplace?”, Goodie Okechukwu, founder of Protect Accent, talked about the importance of looking for biases and discriminations inside one’s company and taking actions to create change in the workplace in order to make everybody feel included. Diversity is a good start, but inclusivity is the goal.

How do you make your people feel included in today’s age?
