Throughout centuries, Chinese culture is influenced by Confucius, which emphasised social and family hierarchy. Authority or top-down approach is an obvious guide to maintain social structure. Leadership, on the other hand, is about the character of the person, not his or her social position. It has an inspirational and two-way elements.
